Melbourne 2019 - I tend not to practice this darker noir kind of processing these days however the M9M files are very well suited for the effect. I found this file yesterday and processed it accordingly.

Wandering along Oxford Road near the entrance to the Royal Mcr Eye Hospital, I came across this building...

The first pic is at ISO 320 (base ISO)

Last three taken at ISO 6400 (I was testing how it looks in sun at that speed) and yellow filter.

I'm "back in the saddle again," so to speak. After several years of moving from the MM1 to the M10M, I've reacquired the MM1. This morning was my first time out with it. I already like it more than the M10M.

I've spent the past year working on a photo essay, documenting the Wyndford estate, in the north of Glasgow. It's a sprawling 1960's brutalist housing scheme. A lot of the locals call it 'the barracks', because it's on the site of the former Maryhill barracks. It was here that Rudolph Hess was held after he fled nazi Germany. The original stone perimeter wall of the barracks still encircles the estate.

More than half the people in the Wyndford don't work. Since the 1970's, the place has had a fierce reputation for drugs and violence. It still clings to that reputation but, in fact, it's  nothing like that at all. I've been shooting my project on 120 Kodak Portra film, and my poor Leica Monochrom mk1 has been a bit neglected. I brought it out the other day, and took this picture of the Wyndford. This was with the 28mm Summicron ASPH mk1, 320 ISO.

I'm close to finishing the project, and looking forward to getting back to firing up the M Monochrom on a more regular basis.

Great topic - would love to see your essay. I wish this can create awareness and opportunities for the people on this estate.
