anupmc Posted April 12, 2013 Share #677 Posted April 12, 2013 Thanks, you're right.I'll redo it in the morning & repost. Mark, I actually prefer the first picture, edgier... Also, you might want to take the picture through Nik's Dfine2... it does wonders to remove banding... I took the liberty of testing it with your pic, here's a screenshot (with the small jpeg, not sure if you can see what a good job it does with the horizontal banding in your first pic). MarkP Posted April 13, 2013 Share #680 Posted April 13, 2013 (edited) Mark, I actually prefer the first picture, edgier... I took the liberty of testing it with your pic, here's a screenshot (with the small jpeg, not sure if you can see what a good job it does with the horizontal banding in your first pic). Thanks so much. I really appreciate the advice I've only just started doing some high-ISO work with the camera and hadn't noticed this at base or close to base ISO whereI've mainly used it. However, as you can see that out-of-focus wall does have strong horizontal textures which probably didn't help: Welcome, dear visitor! I have Dfine2 so I'll have a play the original file and also burn down the bright light source a bit more.
