It's truly amazing, and it's why I sold my 1ds2) Hope Robert doesn't think this is a self-portrait again Welcome, dear visitor! erl Posted October 20, 2007 Share #63 Posted October 20, 2007 Jamie, The wonderful link in the colours/tones of this pics make the single exception of the blue eyes stand out magnificently. I think the model probably contributes something too. I lookd for the broken rules you referred to in another thread, but could only find 'new ground' broken. Nicely achieved. topoxforddoc Posted October 20, 2007 Share #70 Posted October 20, 2007 Here's some from my digital vaults. mgcd Posted October 20, 2007 Share #72 Posted October 20, 2007 Is the surgery shot taken with the DMR, Charlie? Andy - The EXIF info indicates R9/DMR. I recall Charlie showing this when he first got his DMR. Cheers,
Jamie Roberts Posted October 20, 2007 Share #73 Posted October 20, 2007 Hey--are those surgery shots "through the glass"? How the heck do you sterilise a DMR?!
topoxforddoc Posted October 20, 2007 Share #74 Posted October 20, 2007 Gents, In the NHS, we don't care about infections - or at least that's how the Government want to portray us doctors. At work, I'm a Consultant Surgeon (or attending if you're on the other side of the pond). I take my camera to work (either my R9/DMR or my M6) and take pics when I have time. For that shot, I crouched down on the floor next to the operating table and shot the picture framed by something called a "cellsaver" which recycles your blood for retransfusion. I like to take shots of my colleagues at work. None of them have ever had pictures to show their families. In the UK, confidentiality is a huge issue, so none of my shots ever contain faces or identifiable features - I could potentially be struck off if I did. hunterits Posted October 21, 2007 Share #76 Posted October 21, 2007 I have been using my R8 with a DMR for about a year and find it truly amazing. Here are a few of my resent shots. tom0511 Posted October 21, 2007 Share #79 Posted October 21, 2007 Have to say that after just using my M8 for months and looking at this thread and some older DMR images I decided to use my DMR more often. I havent done direct comparison and the M8 works very fine for me but some of those DMR images just have a certain depth. cheers, Tom
