I don't have any problem lumping together new M6, MP, and M-A stats on this issue although we need to keep a count of the numbers in each group just in case. Leica cameras are not made on an assembly line. Each camera is assembled by a trained technician at his or her bench. So unless the new M6 is made by a set of technicians that have never worked on an MP or M-A, i.e., new recruits, there's no issue. They'll be working from a common set of parts for most of the camera.

The MP and M-A cameras have also scratched film in the past, I've been working through the I love my MP and I love my M-A threads and that's what they report. No one bothered to count statistics and these threads praise their cameras because other threads are reporting the problems. Can I say that some of the cameras are truly beautiful.

Yes but you cannot have everything with a Leica!

I haven't included your camera one way or the other, as the idea was to count scratchers.  But it is a new defective camera, so?..  I'll add it to the not good column.

M film cameras are so nice, they are the only cameras that I often just sit there, and work them even without film in them just to feel the mechanics.

All I want for Christmas the New Year, is my M6 back and working correctly.

I just finished a test roll of TMY no problem with shutter tried every speed speed from 1/8 up to 1/1000th. Changing the shutter and aperture. Every frame looks like it got the "same" exposure.

I wonder if Wetzlar folks never stopped partying after Oktoberfest 🤔

There may be an obvious explanation for film scratching that everyone has overlooked - do not attempt to use both media types simultaneously (see 1:55):

Amazing.
His professional review of the Nikon F3 with the Noctilux for low light photography is very…enlightening as well.

Leica was fast. Got my new M6 today. Doesn't scratch. Claus Walter from Foto Walter, the best Leica shop in Germany, helped me and a short time later the new M6 arrived. Excellent !

10 ok, 5 not

I have not included the 2 M-As, because this was meant to be an M6 thread!  Even though we have added MPs..
