I don't get the reasoning behind wearing pants that are intentionally ripped full of holes. This young woman had both of the knees completely torn out. Probably paid $400 for them like that.

That said, the most interesting part of your photo is the guy with the cat bag!

I didn't notice him until after I'd posted this image. He's a local eccentric character who legally changed his name to Truly Remarkable Loon. He recently retired from his career as a juggler who did street and stage performances geared toward young kids. He's also reputed to be a bit of a curmudgeon.

Most of us are followers - a few are leaders - but very few are neither. This girl is a follower of current fashion trends; there is safety in numbers.

We wear these things so we can look back 30 years from that point and say "What was I thinking..", with nostalgia.

Reminds me when my father told me back in the late 1960s that my bell bottom pants would go out of style. I laughed and said, "No way." 😁😁
