topoxforddoc Posted September 30, 2007 Share #2 Posted September 30, 2007 Uh-oh. Lots Of Trouble Usually Serious strikes again. Ouch!! How bad is the bodyshell and was your chassis bent? Hope the plastic surgeon can fix her soon. Best wishes, Charlie
stunsworth Posted September 30, 2007 Share #3 Posted September 30, 2007 If not Pete can always ring Airfix for a replacement body.

davidmires Posted October 1, 2007 Share #5 Posted October 1, 2007 nooooo! I hope it can be fixed. Of course I hope you are alright, but... the car, man! How is the car??
elansprint72 Posted October 1, 2007 Author Share #6 Posted October 1, 2007 Thanks guys; I'm OK, just a bit knocked-about. The car is repairable; suspension bent, wheel wrecked, the problem is finding a decent plastic-surgeon locally (Oxford is too far away, Charlie ). I know that Leicas have been used over the years for car-crash reportage by "the authorities", just a shame that I've had to use mine for the same purpose. topoxforddoc Posted October 1, 2007 Share #7 Posted October 1, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) Sadly the best Lotus plastic surgeon, Mick Miller in Suffolk, passed away a few years ago. Presumably Club Lotus or the Lotus drivers Club will point you in the right direction. Good Luck Charlie

jmr Posted October 1, 2007 Share #10 Posted October 1, 2007 Bad luck Pete, I'm pleased that it hasn't bent your sense of humour too badly out of shape
andybarton Posted October 1, 2007 Share #11 Posted October 1, 2007 Glad to see you're OK, Pete. You're pretty vulnerable sitting 2 inches from the ground in a washing up bowl, with all the big, heavy cars around these days. I seriously worry about the effect of being T-boned by a Discovery 3 or an Audi Q7 (what IS the point of those?) in my BM, let alone in a diddy little car like yours. elansprint72 Posted October 3, 2007 Author Share #13 Posted October 3, 2007 Nice of you to put the white posts back Pete. The guy who lives there did that- he is a 67 year-old side-car racer; he took me into his house and entertained me for a couple of hours while we waited for the breakdown truck. Broke his back 14 years ago and had a "you'll never walk again" statement from the quack. Was racing six months later; broke his leg badly last year but has done two races this season! rob_x2004 Posted October 4, 2007 Share #14 Posted October 4, 2007 Back to the bicycle for a while. They have ergo and STI these days Pete, so you can keep your hands on the bars and hopefully stay closer to the road. Sorry to hear that you need to spend time on the West Systems forums.
