Brightness of framelines - can it be set in the menu or otherwise?

I acquired a 1:2.8/135mm Elmarit - the one with goggles.

With this lens you get the frames in the viewfinder for 90mm. I experienced that the frames are in many situation hardly visible. The brightness of the LED-lit frames is adjusted according to the light of the surroundings. Though the goggles of the Elmarit cover the little sensor on the camera’s front. So the camera „thinks“ that the surroundings are very dark and framelines don‘t need much brightness - which of course is not true in all situations.

So it would be useful if you could switch off the automatic adjustment and just use a given brightness. You can do this with the monitor‘s brightness, but if you switch off automatic adjustment of the monitor’s brightness, it does not help for the frames in the viewfinder: they keep adjusting automatically.

So is there any other means to keep the frames bright even if you use a goggled lens? I faintly remember that some remedy was described here but I cannot find it anymore.
