@lifeandmylens Beautiful images! I'm more and more interested in trading in my two 35s (FLE and Cron ASPH) for a Steel Rim reissue.... I also take a lot of photos of my kids, and it seems like an ideal lens for capturing a certain mood. The question is: could it be my only 35mm???

Thanks!  I think it really depends on your style.  The reissue has more contrast, is more flare resistant and renders slightly more modern than the original.  But yes, I think the reissue could be your only 35mm.   Wide open it’ll have a dreamy soft glow.  Stopping it down will sharpen things up greatly and it will be a 2-in-1 lens in that regard.  The main thing you’ll be lacking is a modern 35 at f/1.4 or f/1.7.

... add a pre FLE 35 summilux to the Steel Rim reissue 🙂

Thank you - the evening indoors I would definitely have set to wide open, maybe nudged half a stop to 1.8,  there were flashing and changing colour lights while dancing and cake cutting was going on and I struggled with colours as you an see from below shot,  b&w just easier option, looking forward to seeing what the photographer does.

Noce pictures from a happy moment, but what is that thing masking the knife? To me it sort of ruins the shot...

Not a knife.... the groom is a plasterer and they cut the cake with a special plasterers trowel that best man had had engraved with wedding date etc, like below

New steel rim reissue (no aperture ring wobble fortunately) shot wide open on a silver M6 (beautiful combo I should add) with Tri-X 400. I must say that I have never seen anything like this from any of my gear, digital, film, modern, vintage or otherwise. Liking it very much.

Took the M10R and the 35SR to a family wedding yesterday, the combo tucked into my little clutch bag perfectly, discrete and did the job I wanted very well, just capturing some nice memories of a lovely day.
