BradS Posted October 20, 2022 Share #1001 Posted October 20, 2022 Advertisement (gone after registration) It's official...The new Leitz Wetzlar M6 is top of page on the Leica website. I love it! It it beautiful! I want one. Reminds me of my first M6....only without all of its quirks. I wonder if my two M2's will be enough in trade to get me a new M6? (probably not...huh?) Nice Work Leica! and thanks for continuing to make film cameras.

DrM Posted October 20, 2022 Share #1004 Posted October 20, 2022 (edited) 5050€…. I’ll keep mine from 1986: MP finder, black dot, and CLA’d Edited October 20, 2022 by DrM
TomB_tx Posted October 20, 2022 Share #1005 Posted October 20, 2022 Hmmm... I find it tempting. I still have and use my 1985 M6 in black chrome, which has held up very well - except when I stored it with a battery installed, which leaked and damaged the meter circuit board, etc. - so it was serviced and meter updated in 2010, and later had the RF/VF updated, so it has been a joy to used since. It still looks almost new - has the plastic film on the baseplate. Might have to get it a younger brother to compare...

Jimmyp82 Posted October 20, 2022 Share #1008 Posted October 20, 2022 (edited) I think the price is fine and to be expected! its an MP with M6 branding and the MP sells for basically the same. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JjjG2T_L6S4 Edited October 20, 2022 by Jimmyp82

Matlock Posted October 20, 2022 Share #1011 Posted October 20, 2022 Looks to be a great success. Whilst everyone will have their own views, it seems entirely logical to return to the M4-M7 style film advance and rewind levers. The M-A/MP style is aesthetically great but not ergonomically (but as I said, many will have their own preferences).

shirubadanieru Posted October 20, 2022 Share #1013 Posted October 20, 2022 Yeah those levers look cool in their own way…but I always hated the big LEICA M6 lettering on the front and the red dot…I think most people do that’s why M-P versions of all digital Ms with no lettering or logo cost more than the regular versions. This M6 release is great, but should be way cheaper than this. Hard to see anyone going for this over the MP if they have a very similar price, unless you really want to have lettering and logos on your cameras; nothing wrong with that, each to their own : p 2

shirubadanieru Posted October 20, 2022 Share #1015 Posted October 20, 2022 So the price just got released here in Japan and it costs ¥748,000 ?!? That’s more than the MP which costs around 600,000…makes even less sense now 1
