Spot filter for Summicron lenses

Thambar has a spot filter.. has anybody found a way to use a Summicron lens with a spot filter ? Or is softening the image done during post  ?

I don't have any experience with spot filter.

However for "softening" effect you can try one of these Hoya Diffusion Filters

or Duto

or simply make filters by yourself your imagination is the limit, hairspray, breath, nylon fabric, etc.

Ok thank  you , will use when needed on the 75mm Summicron ..cheaper than buying a 75mm Summilux........Duto Thumbs up

Probably just as good as the Softar I once tried.

I do use some diffution devices (DIY only) on my Noctilux, sometimes.

I can not share results, but I can say very "pleasing".

Other soft focus effects can be had using a clear filter and some vaseline - good for getting different effects e.g. just around the edges or centre.

Of course there is also the option to add softening in digital PP.

UV filter with Vaseline round the edge is what I used in the 70’s.
