Advertisement Posted September 1, 2022 Posted September 1, 2022 Hi Sharphoto, Take a look here Spot filter for Summicron lenses. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
a.noctilux Posted September 1, 2022 Share #2 Posted September 1, 2022 I don't have any experience with spot filter. However for "softening" effect you can try one of these Hoya Diffusion Filters or Duto or simply make filters by yourself your imagination is the limit, hairspray, breath, nylon fabric, etc.

a.noctilux Posted September 1, 2022 Share #5 Posted September 1, 2022 I do use some diffution devices (DIY only) on my Noctilux, sometimes. I can not share results, but I can say very "pleasing".
earleygallery Posted September 1, 2022 Share #6 Posted September 1, 2022 Other soft focus effects can be had using a clear filter and some vaseline - good for getting different effects e.g. just around the edges or centre. Of course there is also the option to add softening in digital PP.

Pyrogallol Posted September 2, 2022 Share #8 Posted September 2, 2022 UV filter with Vaseline round the edge is what I used in the 70’s.
spydrxx Posted September 2, 2022 Share #9 Posted September 2, 2022 In the 70s I used a patch of womens' hosiery with a central hole burned in with a cigarette.
