Hmmm!  I have just spent nearly an hour trying to resize each of five photos to fit as close to the .49MB limit as possible.   The first two I have posted look terrible compared to the originals.  There must be a better way.   If there are instructions on the forum on how to do this better, could someone point them to me please?   I wont add any more pics until I get this figured out properly.

Will also post this question in the 'how to' thread.

This is what I do....See below's post.

I have been trying JPEGMini as recommended.  It works quite well - reducing size by 30-40% without apparent reduction in quality.

The Pro version is a bit pricy if all you want to do is occasional reductions for forum posts.  That's all I do, I dont otherwise use JPEG.  There is a JPEGMini Lite available on the App Store for free.  It is restricted to 20 uses per day but that's okay if all you want to do is post 2 or 3 pics.

Thank you for helping me to make snow white.

This is The DNG File after hitting the auto button, dropping it into Photoshop 2020, then hitting the levels-auto button.

Much better looking than my back garden Albert which is foggy, with lots of muddy puddles, give me some white (or blue) snow any old time.   Taking photo's in boots and PJ's is something I do quite often too😁!

Privileged to sing Evensong today at St Paul's Cathedral as a guest choir (the Fairhaven Singers), and with special permission to take photographs during rehearsal.
CL + 11-23TL at 11mm. ISO 2000, 1/20s.
(And, for those interested, the music was the Ayleward Responses, Stanford's Magnificat & Nunc Dimittis in G and, for the anthem, Howells' Long, Long Ago)

Inspired by Paul's photo I booked myself a day of work and went to visit St Paul's again. The photography ban has indeed been lifted 🙂 I checked at the entry and they told me I was welcome to snap away.  Needless to say I didn't bother to try this particular shot as nothing could match Paul's result but I was able to find some other angles that pleased me.

With the TL 35mm, ISO 6400, f3.5 and 1/80th sec

So nice to see some colour - everything here is very dreary.

Here is some color. Although you could get the same colour if you wait for a clear day at sunset. And then use crappy image processing like snapseed. . .

55-135 at 135mm. ISO1600, f/8, 1/80th sec.

Really lovely shooting Dippy, sort of quite ashamed to say I've never visited St.Pauls, so wonderful to see.

I think it was "the star" of an episode of "The Crown." Winnie's death was celebrated there, and, in a remarkably unusual gesture, Elizabeth attended. British monarchs apparently do not attend the funeral of commoners.

Our Queen also went to Margaret Thatcher's funeral, make of that what you will😄.

You could e-mail me the original file and I’ll play with it in Photoshop 2020. On second thought I would probably turn it blue🤪

Thank you. The joy of living in London is that it's all on my doorstep. St Paul's is very different to the gothic cathedrals we're so used to. Christopher Wren certainly knew what he was doing! Isn't it funny how we all travel hundreds of miles to other cities to see what's on offer there when there's so much on our own doorstep. In the future I intend to be a tourist in my own city more often than I do now.

I'll look forward to that. I've just seen Princess Margaret marry so I'm way back in series 2.

As some wag remarked, they ought to jump to Crown, Season 7, with what's been going on the past month or so!

Before I checked, I would have sworn this was with a long lens - it looks foreshortened. I've found a used specimen which is on its way 🙂
I love the colours here.
