Small church in fog in the Alps. With CL and 18-56. A very good lens for travelling - cannot complain a bout it. One photo in color-one in black&w.

It is a very monochromatic scene Heinz thus I prefer the second version.

As young children we were led single file up the hill from school to the church. Here, we took turns in these black boxes telling our “sins” through a black screen to a man dressed in black🤮

It's a beautiful and atmospheric image. You might try a halfway house between the two - take the colour version and play with the saturation and vibrance adjustments until it's almost, but not quite, black and white. I think a touch of colour works for this scene better than total monochrome.

Lonicera - with CL 18-56 plus Marumi 5 diop. My macro lens was not with me, because I was on a journey for a few days and took only the 18-56 and the 55-135 with me, to keep gear as light as possible.

Oh, my wife just loves that flower and the photograph!

I keep coming back and looking at this superb image, may I ask what settings you used for in camera HCB&W contrast and sharpness?

Thanks Dave that’s very kind. The settings are unaltered from default. The only thing I do is shoot at -2/3 or -1 stop of EV to avoid blown highlights.

I shoot in raw + jpg (because, you know, why not?) but honestly the high contrast B&W jpegs this camera produce can be sublime. I can never fully replicate the results working on the raw in LR.
