I think I may have settled on my perfect CL travel package: Super-Vario-Elmar 11-23TL  + Apo-Macro-Elmarit 60TL. The latter may be 'only' a prime, but it is such a versatile lens.
This with the 60, wide open.

Hydrangea. My wife said it was out of focus; I was able to show her that a fraction of one stamen was in focus.

Thanks! It's not really the sort of shot I go looking for (too picture postcard). But the quality of this lens brings out all the detail in images like this (and when the light is this good).

For me , the image captures summertime in an iconic way.

Yes, the lens is a favorite of mine (that I do not use often enough).  Rob

. The Monarch butterfly goes through multiple reproductions and dies before the lucky one makes it to a mountain in Mexico with millions of compatriots. The lucky ones hang out all Winter and the process reverses itself toward Canada.

If you knew this please forgive me. I explained the process to a person on a separate forum.

For what it’s worth: you can see the green

aphids that are being herder by the ants. The ants then milk the aphids and bring the nutrients back to their colony. Totally symbiotic. 🤷‍♂️

Couple from a day with two of my favourite little people CL and 75 Lux.  Actually turned into a bit of a treasure hunt in the end.  These two wanted to go rolling round in the upturned hay ring which had my danger antenna twitching like mad, imagining broken limbs.   Camera was abandoned on the grass so I could hang on and keep the speed down,  and half an hour later we had to find it again!

These two and the pair that follow are just spectacular Jayne. Lovely everything.

Great shot, the sort of thing I don't usually bother with because I can't make it into an interesting photo but you've succeeded here. You're travelling a lot, I hope you remember where your home is 😎

Back home now with a bit of time to sort through the shots.
