Louis Posted January 10, 2018 Share #493 Posted January 10, 2018 More bull CL + Nikkor 2.8/50 micro Wonderful colors. Since you are also using Nikkor lenses ( I guess via Novoflex adapter?), how do you focus? How does the magnification work for you?
Photon42 Posted January 10, 2018 Share #494 Posted January 10, 2018 Wonderful colors. Since you are also using Nikkor lenses ( I guess via Novoflex adapter?), how do you focus? How does the magnification work for you? Merci bien, Louis. Novoflex-M, then M-L ... Manual focus works very well for me. I think I know when to rely on contrast enhancement aids and when it is better to check with the loupe. For critical work, it would be nice if the loupe window could be moved around like the AF target. Next firmware, maybe.
Photon42 Posted January 10, 2018 Share #495 Posted January 10, 2018 I find the 50 Micro a good option for the occasional macro shot. A lot of the other Nikkor lenses look a bit out of place on the CL.

I think I know when to rely on contrast enhancement aids and when it is better to check with the loupe. For critical work, it would be nice if the loupe window could be moved around like the AF target. Next firmware, maybe. Le plaisir est pour moi, cher ami. How about the magnification feature? Is it working for you with Novoflex?... As discussed previously, the magnification with the top right wheel is not working for me when using Novoflex (as it doesn't have any electrical connection with the camera), but I found out that I can use the arrow on the right side of the screen to magnify when using Nikkor with Novoflex. I still don'T know if this is a malfunction of the camera or normal with third party MF lenses!
Louis Posted January 10, 2018 Share #497 Posted January 10, 2018 I find the 50 Micro a good option for the occasional macro shot. A lot of the other Nikkor lenses look a bit out of place on the CL. Actually, I enjoyed using my old Nikkor lenses on T. I have 28 mm, 50 mm, 85 mm, and 300 mm. Also, an Angenieux 35-70 with Nikon mount. They really served me well with T and I was hoping it would be the same with CL.

Mine is: Nikkor -> Novoflex -> Leica L-Adapter M. That way, the camera thinks it has an uncoded M lens mounted. As far as I understand, you go directly from F-Mount to TL-Mount. I wasn't aware the loupe then does not work (why??). With my setup, the loupe engages when the outer wheel is turned (3x/6x).

Yes; I go from F to TL, and as the camera only has Leica R and M profiling, and not any third party lens, it can't recognize my lenses. I did not have this problem with T as it does not have lens profile feature. I was hoping it would be the same with CL!... C'est vraiment enquiquinant!
