Against my better judgement I agreed to shoot my good friends' wedding in Italy in July. It was a bit of a leap into the unknown but I'm happy with how it turned out. I shot colour on the CL and B&W film on my old Canon FTb.

Again it is an honor to be accepted in this wonderful club and seeing the creative exciting images like the beautiful wedding above.

Continuing with the theme of the CL's amazing capacity to allow using all my 1960s M lenses ( still miss using the M2s and

developing photos for hours in darkroom). This photo taken with my 'still mint' 1965 90mm f 2.0 SUMMICRON on CL giving

CL equivalent of 135mm f 2.0 lens.

Autumn Lady's Tresses Orchid flowering on a Peterborough UK nature reserve. A scarce September flowering orchid requiring lime rich soil and a sure sign that Autumn is approaching. A small orchid with up to 21 tiny flowers on the spiralling flower spikes. Edward Step's 'Wayside and Woodland Blossoms' Book 3 devotes 2 pages to the  Autumn Lady's Tresses Orchid's description and construction including reproduction.   Plan to return with a macro lens and obtain close-up flower pix.

Leica CL / TL 18mm.

After venturing out to a local nature reserve to photograph Ivy Mining Bees this afternoon 10 September the heavens opened and I was soaked - so visited Leica Forum member mike_j who'd invited me to see his still life set-up and decided to try a couple of pix of his home grown Passion Flower and Passion Fruit subjects which he was experimenting with in his conservatory. I used my own 'off-camera' Leica SF 58 diffused flash on the LHS and a hastily assembled home-made white paper reflector on the RHS

Partly peeled Passion Fruit

Leica CL / Sigma 105 Macro L-mount / Leica SF 58 flashlight / Nikon 'off-camera' flash lead / Lastolite EZYBOX Speed-Lite diffuser / Velbon tripod for camera & lens / Small Gitzo tripod for flashlight / Green baize background; ISO 400 f5.6  1/15sec

An interesting technical / learning exercise and first time use of 'off-camera' Leica SF 58 flash / Lastolite EZYBOX with Leica CL

I had planned to use the  Leica SF 58 flash / Lastolite EZYBOX to photograph the bees.

And thank you to mike_j for supplying the subject matter and subject supports.

Has been some discussion on here recently of the 18-56 Vario-Elmar-TL.

I'm posting these as I was surprised by how nicely they turned out. Taken during an afternoon messing about in the garden, I had the 18-56 at full zoom and set the focus manually to be as short as possible with aperture at f5.6.

They have been cropped in LR and downsized so I could upload here but I was really surprised at how nicely this worked for shots of flowers & other small garden items.

I was working with Leica M9 Monochrom and since 2 years working heavily with Leica CL and just felt in love. It is simple system with great outputs. I cross my fingers they will release CL2 somehow soon.
