In the Roquette are of Arles.
This is caught between two photographic intents. I meant it to be a serious artistic shot of the coloured wall and shutters reflected in the puddle, and I have another one that does that. But the red shirt and the bird diverted my attention, and I thought you'd rather see this one.

could this be the much debated “decisive moment”? I really like everything about this photograph, from the reflections leading me into the frame, the bird, light and shadow, the man’s position , the red shirt..this is a keeper imho. Thanks for sharing.

I hate to say this but it was just by chance. I think I saw the bird move and pressed the trigger quickly, but I certainly didn't see the man till afterwards!

NOT, an English Garden.

Although they are magnificent. This is a small part of our backyard. I grew up in South Dakota, and wanted to see a bit of the prairie landscape that I grew up with. We now live in Saint Paul, Minnesota, and all of these plants are actually native to both states.

Taken with permission, as she was seated opposite my café table. I can deduce, Watson, that like me she has been here for the opening week of the Rencontre d'Arles photo festival, and has sore feet from all the walking.
