Thinking of buying second copy of F1 Nocti - How dumb am I?

Recommended Posts

For “F1 Nocti “ say any Leica lens.

Why did I buy a second 28mm Elmarit? or 90mm Tele Elmarit? or 50mm Summilux? or 35mm f2.8 Summaron? or any number of f3.5 Elmars?

Not to mention M2’s or M4-P’s?

If a person wants to be truly safe, they should have six of each lens, each copy stored in the safe deposit box of different banks located in different states and nations.

It goes without saying that one of the banks should be in Australia, as a hedge against global thermonuclear war.  😅

It all comes down to whether you are a pessimist or an optimist. Do you feel safer with several backups? Store the backup lenses on the backup planet.

I couldn't resist the title, but it is a valid question. I am considering buying another copy of the F1 Nocti v4. Has anyone else picked up a second copy of a nocti? If so, any benefits of doing so?

PS I have the F1, .95 and reissued 1.2.

Yes. Next question?

Still Friday here!

Time difference, our time zone is clearly one day ahead of yours.🤩

In other words, if our region toasted, you'd still have one day for escaping to the Mars or else.🤣

I have three Noctilux, f/1 e58, f/1 e60 (2nd) and f/1.2 remake. Not a fan of the f0.95 rendering so use Canon 50mm f/0.95 instead. The f/1 e58 totally amazing.

The next nocti on the ‘must have’ list is the original f/1.2. Finding one in good condition however not an easy thing. $35-50USD for average glass at the moment
