erl Posted September 15, 2007 Share #21 Posted September 15, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) O.K. Portraiture is IMHO a wide open genre. NOT just the classic head and shoulder, smile at the camera which I tend to avoid. Just personal bias. I have attached two randomly selected portraits I created with my M8 in the last week or so. The first using a borrowed 50/1.4 Pre ASPH and the second was the CV15/4.5. Both are reproduced full frame, processed in C1 Beta 4. Other manipulations very minimal. Note the second (15mm pic) still has the cyan cast at the bottom. I could say I left it in because it re-inforces the apperent lonliness and depair of the the weary magazine seller, but the truth is I am too lazy to remove it. The first image is a grab of the lady sitting opposite me at the Celtic Club Jazz night. Don't know her name, but was attracted by the glasses and ear rings as a duo. Welcome, dear visitor! robsteve Posted September 15, 2007 Share #33 Posted September 15, 2007 Here is one from the first day I had the M8. This is Dr. Roy a former Commodore of our yacht club, photographed in front of photos of other past commodores. This was not set up. I was in a meeting there and just shot this while he sat at the boardroom table.

elansprint72 Posted September 15, 2007 Share #38 Posted September 15, 2007 Perhaps someone from Scotland could start an M8 on the M8 with an M8 thread? For those who do not know, BMW make a car called the M8, the M8 is a motorway, the M8 is a camera. Why should the M8 not be as good a portrait or landscape camera as any of the other M series- it uses the same lens, just a different method of recording. get a grip lads. cdgerston Posted September 15, 2007 Share #39 Posted September 15, 2007 This is my first post here, but I've learned a lot on this forum...thanks everyone. I've had the M8 since June, and these are among my favorites of the summer...to me, they qualify as portraits, though not formal. My daughters, Lucy and Molly, all taken with either a 35 Summicron ASPH or CV 50 Nokton. ~ Curt Welcome, dear visitor!
