Hi Peter,

Sorry to say that I won't be able to get along to the meeting this time; I'm away camping in Shropshire.  Hope you all have a good time,

Best wishes,

Susie

I'm sorry to hear that, Susie, but thank you for letting us know.  I hope your camping is pleasant considering the heatwave and I hope you can make it to whenever the next one will be. 🙂

Pete.

A great day out in a warm and sunny London! Thanks to everyone who managed to come along, apologies for the date change (which I think in retrospect was a sensible decision)  and a big thanks to Pete who found us a superb lunch venue, including al fresco dining!
Wonderful to be doing this again and hopefully we’ll hatch a plan to do another one before too long!

It was a very pleasant day and I think the Kaho Restaurant Bar were very friendly and served us very well.  I hope that the stroll from the restaurant across the Thames and along the South Bank was pleasant and not too demanding and members managed to take one or two decent pictures along the way.  I note that Pedaes has very kindly posted a lovely picture from the Golden Jubilee (Hungerford) Bridge with a view of St Paul's cathedral, etc.

Thank you to everyone who made the effort to join the forum meeting but in particular to @gravastar who undoubtedly had the most arduous journey of any of us and it was great to chat to him again after such a long time.

My thanks also go to @jcraf and @robert_parker for their help in organising and their sound advice.

The meeting was intended to be a kick-starter to resume forum meetings in London and elsewhere and in that I hope it has been successful and there are one or two ideas for forum meetings 'in the hopper'.

Pete.

A 'sketcher' at the South Bank. Will post elsewhere in b&w.

Looks like you had a good time guys and girls. Shame I missed it.

I didn't get to go camping after all.  Instead I went for a short quick trip down the stairs at home: bruised foot, fore-head and two black eyes, and a dislocated shoulder! I'm getting too old for that sort of caper.

I was thinking that as there are several in the Uttlesford D.C. area and Cambridgeshire, how about a meeting in Cambridge?  There is a good train link from London, and for those who drive, a park-and-ride facility.
