Lukas Ruskys Posted June 11, 2022 Share #1 Posted June 11, 2022 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hi dear forum members, Recently I noticed that my M6 has a light leak. It needs new light seal. 1. What would be your recommendation for the best price-quality service in the EU territory? 2. How much did you pay for a full M camera service (cleaning and lubricating)? Many thanks for your answers Welcome, dear visitor! As registered member you'd see an image here… Simply register for free here – We are always happy to welcome new members! Advertisement Posted June 11, 2022 Posted June 11, 2022 Hi Lukas Ruskys, Take a look here A camera service recommendation is required in Europe. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
earleygallery Posted June 11, 2022 Share #2 Posted June 11, 2022 Are you sure this is the result of light leaks in the camera and not some sort of processing error? The streaks appear to be too random to me. What do the actual negs look like?
Lukas Ruskys Posted June 11, 2022 Author Share #3 Posted June 11, 2022 Same light leaks appear on last 2 film rolls but not on all shots. Can't find any pattern of these errors. Negatives show the same results. Anyway camara is about 30 years old and I didn't know is any service was done in these years. I've been owning it for 5 years and done 60 rolls. madNbad Posted June 13, 2022 Share #4 Posted June 13, 2022 (edited) Here is a link to Leica Customer services forms. The original M6 and M6 TTL had felt shutter seals that can degrade. When the MP was introduced they were changed to a longer lasting polymer material. Hope this helps, welcome to the forum and post a few photos from time to time: https://leica-camera.com/en-GB/service-support/repair-maintenance Edited June 13, 2022 by madNbad
Al Brown Posted June 16, 2022 Share #5 Posted June 16, 2022 I recommend Jo Geier from Mint and Rare in Vienna. They have a second hand store and a repair shop for Leicas and other cameras.https://www.jogeier.com/
