THEME Posted June 9, 2022 Share #1 Posted June 9, 2022 Advertisement (gone after registration) Price and availability are not yet known, but the yellow set with two lenses will cost nearly $50k. Only a few sets available, if too much interest they'll make an auction. More here: https://the.me/is-this-the-mother-of-all-leica-m-special-editions/ Welcome, dear visitor! As mentioned over in the Gold Leica thread, all proceeds from sales go to charity for King's projects. Such noble cause. Welcome, dear visitor! Pintpot Posted June 9, 2022 Share #5 Posted June 9, 2022 A Modern 'Luxus' I wonder if one will turn up in 'The Antiques Roadshow' in 100 years time. Have to say I prefer the green one - but it's the 'Croc' I feel sorry for. I suspect that somewhere in China they'll be banging out copies already 😁 FYI - an early Luxus did turn up on the roadshow a few years ago, and went on to make a lot of money at auction Antiques Roadshow expert stunned as Leica camera he valued at £5000 fetches six figure sum | TV & Radio | Showbiz & TV | Express.co.uk
pippy Posted June 9, 2022 Share #6 Posted June 9, 2022 I like the boxes they come in. The cameras? Hey; why not. Not my cup of tea but the charities who will benefit from the sales will be delighted to receive funding and the collectors who manage to acquire the sets will be equally happy so a win-win situation for everyone. Good luck to them all. Philip.

Looks like Leica is offering these special edition services as a kind of value-adding service. Anyone can order a special edition, if one pays for it. The final sales price is up to the client. For instance, the client chooses the package, such as which lens(es) to include.
colonel Posted June 17, 2022 Share #15 Posted June 17, 2022 (edited) I'd like a platinum version. Everyone will think it's steel but you will know the truth ... 😌 Edited June 17, 2022 by colonel
Robert Blanko Posted June 17, 2022 Share #16 Posted June 17, 2022 I don‘t like the golden color for a camera and in case a noble metal would be a must, I would prefer platinum. But maybe better go with black chrome and buy a nice lens instead - or two… BTW, who will sign the camera? John Doe, ppa? 🤔

pedaes Posted August 13, 2022 Share #19 Posted August 13, 2022 This thread is obviously the antidote to the 'Cost of living crisis' thread. I couldn't afford the box, but it would be hypocritical to say I wouldn't like to have one one in a cupboard to get out and fondle on wet Sundays.
PhongNguyen0196 Posted August 13, 2022 Share #20 Posted August 13, 2022 The idea is that in Asia’s anarchy, gold is prestigious. Back then, civilians who wear anything in gold color would be beheaded. So that ideas went on that pretty much anything related to the Royal family should be in gold but not an excuse for this. This is truly horrible. New low for digital Leica
