Price and availability are not yet known, but the yellow set with two lenses will cost nearly $50k. Only a few sets available, if too much interest they'll make an auction.

Or a distinguished gentleman's collection piece.
As mentioned over in the Gold Leica thread, all proceeds from sales go to charity for King's projects. Such noble cause.

Would be nice if you credit the source of your information in your Gold thread answer - or a link to this thread will also do. Much appreciated.

A Modern 'Luxus' I wonder if one will turn up in 'The Antiques Roadshow' in 100 years time. Have to say I prefer the green one - but it's  the 'Croc' I feel sorry for. I suspect  that somewhere in China they'll be banging out copies already 😁

FYI - an early Luxus did turn up on the roadshow a few years ago, and went on to make a lot of money at auction

I like the boxes they come in.

The cameras? Hey; why not. Not my cup of tea but the charities who will benefit from the sales will be delighted to receive funding and the collectors who manage to acquire the sets will be equally happy so a win-win situation for everyone.

Good luck to them all.

Philip.

Tacky and grotesque. A new low for Leica. Oh and they even dare to hand-sign each piece. 😵💫

In the film days, Leica reputation was at the lowest point for me when they made gold Leicas. Now this. How to destroy your reputation again....  I'm seriously alienated by this.

Simply a matter of supply and demand.

Looks like Leica is offering these special edition services as a kind of value-adding service. Anyone can order a special edition, if one pays for it. The final sales price is up to the client.

For instance, the client chooses the package, such as which lens(es) to include.

This thread is obviously the antidote to the 'Cost of living crisis' thread.

I couldn't afford the box, but it would be hypocritical to say I wouldn't like to have one one in a cupboard to get out and fondle on wet Sundays.
