IkarusJohn Posted June 8, 2022 Share #2 Posted June 8, 2022 Big price for a paint job, unless it is actually made from titanium …
Herr Barnack Posted June 8, 2022 Share #3 Posted June 8, 2022 I would expect it to be made of titanium, not just painted titanium color. Nice, very nice. But at $10.6K for the body, I'll pass. Unless it rains diamonds at my house sometime soon... 4

It had a sort of painted on Ti skin over the base metal.
Capuccino-Muffin Posted June 9, 2022 Share #6 Posted June 9, 2022 They were all titanium plated. Still, although not original titanium, thenplating over brass will never wear, it binds. the good thng about titanium plated lenses is that they are Brass, and it feels glorious.
250swb Posted June 9, 2022 Share #7 Posted June 9, 2022 (edited) Advertisement (gone after registration) Of course if it was Nikon real titanium would be used to make it bullet proof, not just a coating over soft brass. Nowadays I suppose Leica could 3D print a titanium top plate so it will be interesting to see which route they have chosen. But for $10.6k you'd have thought they could have made the slot in that screw line up with something. Edited June 9, 2022 by 250swb 1
Yellow_78 Posted June 9, 2022 Share #8 Posted June 9, 2022 I only pray and hope! I love my M-A and its my favourite of my M's currently. This is tempting though especially with a matching 50 apo!
Yellow_78 Posted June 9, 2022 Share #9 Posted June 9, 2022 Shortly after my last comment, I recieved an automated e-mail from Leica. It's true! There is a titanium version coming and it looks pretty. Hmmm... what to do guys!? GAS activated lol.

The rewind lever screw though is all over the shop, that’s true.

malligator Posted June 9, 2022 Share #17 Posted June 9, 2022 I’d love to buy the lens separately, but the only M-A I want and need is sitting right here next to me.
Huss Posted June 9, 2022 Share #18 Posted June 9, 2022 This one is milled from solid titanium, unlike the plated other versions. $20K for 1/250 solid Ti? I think that's reasonable.. 1
