Pyrogallol Posted May 11, 2022 Share #4  Posted May 11, 2022 I have a Nikon one on my S2. and this non-Leitz one on an early Leica 111. I have seen one illustration of it, but can’t find it at present. Welcome, dear visitor! Steve, have you use the Nikon AR-1 on Leica LTM camera ? I must have no luck, I screwed AR-1 (working fine on Nikon F/F2) on one of my Leica IIIg, the shutter triggering "travel" is not up to F/F2. For me maybe my AR-1 is not same as other I can not use it with neither one of my Leica LTM ( II, III, Standard, IIIg ). I don't bother to use this AR-1 anymore on LTM. It did fit and work, but it is lost at the moment within countless boxes of bits. In reality the AR-1 isn't a soft release, it's to extend the shutter release height to be closer to the level of the F and F2's Photomic head shutter speed dials. Other than design changes I don't know why yours wouldn't fit, but I'll start looking for mine again.
a.noctilux Posted May 22, 2022 Share #8 Â Posted May 22, 2022 Out of curiosity, I manage to mount this Nikon AR-1 again on my IIIg. Screwing in untill stop, the shutter button turns freely. Unscrewing about two turns, I can use it on IIIg, a bit flumsy, maybe it's a bit too long inside or too short threading part.
