With card failures not uncommon, I use smaller, faster cards, and download promptly, and back-up.  I rarely fill a card.

There may be industry standards, and maybe Leica isn’t that good at compying with them, but history shows that not all cards complying with this standards behave the same.  Lots of discussion previously about which cards randomly work and others that don’t.  Like all good tests, why don’t you systematically change your set-up.  You’ll quickly find the culprit - my guess is either the adapter (in combination with the card you’re using) or the card - it’s not about industry standards with Leica, sadly …

Thats great for you, but I like to have my whole photo library on my card. This isn't a discussion about the merits of why someone would use a 1TB card or not.

Rather does it even work? The manual states that up to 2TB is supported.

Cards do fail, sometimes ....

Sure can happen. Just strange that it totally works in the computer. I copied 512GB to it no problem.

Its on its way back. Still waiting to hear if anyone has any luck using a 1TB card though…

I would never use a large capacity card. It’s just a disaster waiting to happen. For me a 64GB is more that sufficient. On a M10 you can easily fill in several hundred snaps.

Had no problems for the past 2+ years with a 512GB card. With a good back up system no different to using a small card

Back to the question at hand. Does anyone have a 1TB Sd card working in an M10?

This is the only thread on the internet that has someone trying to use a 1TB card on a Leica M. I think the answer to your question is No.

Come to think of it, a 1TB SD Card should store about 33,000 M10 DNGs.

Yes, but I think the thread opener is not interested in such comments. He has something in his head that no Leica M user would ever think of

Please refrain from personal attacks. @kgs

I am only asking a simple question and don't need to defend or justify why I am choosing to use a card that is stated by the manual to work. Have a nice day.

Ever thought of asking Leica?

I thought it was a good question, but after some time and no answer, it's obvious that your attempt was original at least to the users of this forum.  One thing for certain is that we all owe you our thanks for sharing your experience and I'm sure others will later if searching for info on 1TB cards for their M cameras.  Also noted is that sometimes the manual is a bit misleading.  But you did mention that the 512GB version worked well....also good to know.  Thanks!

Just FYI, I verified that that model Sandisc 1TB card will not work in my M10. I needed a large card to backup a laptop, so got the same model, and use it in the adapter to standard SD size than came with it. The M10 ignores it, formatted or not, and simply reports No Card Found. My laptops use it without problem, and even my base model Sony A7 can format it and use it.

My M10 is the base model, never upgraded the firmware.

I stay with 16GB cards for cameras, so it's a non-issue for me.

I'm pretty sure it's a firmware issue, update to the latest and you should be able to use a 1TB card.

EDIT - I'm not so sure anymore, from what I can tell the firmware notes said up to 512GB cards so maybe not
