Misaligned eyes on Elmarit 135mm f:2.8

I recently bought a well used Elmarit f:2.8 135mm with the eyes. On both my M4 and M 240, the eye on the right, near the shutter release, is slightly higher than the eye on the left. And when focusing, the image in the viewfinder that moves left and right is slightly below the stationary image. The focusing is spot-on, but it would be better, I think, if the two images were also spot-on. Is this something that can be easily adjusted by the user? And if so, can anyone point me to instructions?
