bcapphoto Posted April 4, 2022 Share #1 Posted April 4, 2022 Advertisement (gone after registration) The SOOC JPG files out of the Q2M are absolutely breathtaking and have a ton of latitude! I’m finding I can easily go +/- almost 2 stops no problem if I need to. Does anyone else shoot SOOC JPGs with colour filters?! Here are a couple 👇 Welcome, dear visitor! kmonroe99 Posted April 6, 2022 Share #2 Posted April 6, 2022 Did you leave the sharpness/contrast/toning settings at the default? I'm starting to shoot SOOC JPG also, with an orange filter.

I also have a preset in LR that I auto-apply when importing JPGs from my Q2M to get them where I want them. Then, voila, they're done!
PaulJohn Posted April 12, 2022 Share #4 Posted April 12, 2022 My one day old Q2M is shooting high contrast SOOC JPEGs (+ RAW) with slight sepia tone and yes they are superb. I would prefer an even more subtle sepia (where you are not sure if toned or not) but still they are gorgeous. I was worried that I had made a mistake buying this camera but now i have seen the files I am sold.

Orange filter on a color sensor doesn't work like it does on a monochrome camera. Use the in-camera high contrast monochrome setting with a circular or linear polarizer if you want a similar effect. Guess which ones were shot with a red filter? Converted to b&w looks like total shit and all the b&w color sliders for adjusting the image tones become useless. Only use for this would be in color for a horror movie. These were not shot on a Q2, but the effect is the same using a color filter on the Q2 with the JPEG monochrome film style. Ba Erv Posted May 7, 2022 Share #8 Posted May 7, 2022 The new tweaks added in the latest firmware update have even improved the jpg output. I added a little S curve in the settings and changing the film type to Acros in Silver Efex Pro 3 is nailing it for me.
