I did not like the slow shutter so exchanged my silver M11 for a M10-R BLACK PAINT.

My M11 isn't noticeably slower to shoot than my M10R. There's a bug that can slow shooting down but there's an easy way around it.

The actual difference between then is only 1/100th of a second.

The M10R BP is the more beautiful camera though!!!

AsI dont like what I get with the M11, for reasons explained earlier, I’ve decided to sell it.

I’m selling the black body (less than 200 shots) along with 2 APOs (35 and 50mm) and a Visoflex 2. So if you want to have your M11 quickly, come to the sunny South of France :-))

I would take the 35 apo Leica lens

Impossible to do click-click-click in single shot mode with my M11, even in e-shutter mode. My M240 is vastly superior from this stand point. Only solution is click-yawn-click-yawn-click or continuous mode that i dislike but i have to chimp for that. Another superiority of the M240 with its manual C mode which proved handy on the M8.2 already. Who said that the M240 is a sluggish camera? I did in LV mode but the M11 proves slower in RF mode from this stand point. My experience with the M11 is one day long only though but the first feeling is not good so far....

Rapid click-click-click in single shot mode (RF mode, mechanical shutter) works better (not faster but longer) with the M11 then with any previous M camera: Just set auto review to shutter button.

I have to agree with you. the M10R was more responsive and faster in single mode. It doesn't shoot the same even with preview on hold.

They have to fix it.

I got my M11 (black) about 5 weeks ago. I just got back from 9 days in the UK and Holland visiting my daughter who lives and works in London.

As I worked through my images in Capture One Pro 22, I became very impressed with the "depth" of detail in the images and more accurate metering system of the M11. My other M is the M10-R, which was an upgrade from the M10, my first Leica.

Although I took my APO Summicron 35mm and APO Summicron 50mm lenses with me, the 35mm never left the M11 body. I love this combination.

It's a shame that my Leica M10 half case doesn't work on the M11 because of the position of the tripod mount. I was able to buy the black M11 half case in the Leica Mayfair store in London.

Here a few images reduced in size to upload. The full size images are spectacular.

Bud James

I always set auto review to off for this very reason. Just tried your suggestion but it does not make any difference. click-click-click gives you two shots not three.

I usually set auto review to off too (I did so with all previous M cameras). However, there is a FW bug in the M11 that needs to be solved.

Do check again:

RF mode with mechanical shutter and auto review to shutter button?

I can click 10 times as fast as I possibly can and I get 10 exposures...

SD-card writing speed issue maybe?

Just tried with a faster card and i works better now thank you folks

🙂. With a 60MP sensor, file sizes are huge, so writing speed becomes a lot more important than with smaller MP sensors.

Glad you found a solution. Sadly for my pocketbook, I've had to relegate all my SD cards with write speeds below 200mb/sec to emergency backup use only. Even my lower resolution SL2-S is better with the higher speed cards. I've had good luck with SanDisk Pro (300read/260write) in the M11, and Sony Tough SF-G (300read/299write) in the SL2-S.

Speed of memory cards should not play any role when files are stored on the internal SSD first i suppose but the camera remains sluggish when Auto Review is disabled then. The main culprit seems to be the bug referred to by @anickpick above but i have ordered a Sony Tough card for the M11 as a precaution.
