Looks dangerous and dramatic, but fascinating. Impressive Image.

Hello e1k3. Thankfully the worst of the erution had subsided. It was imposible to get closer. The stairs clibing up to the caldera of Bomo where covered with a meter or more of black sand. Impressive place. Makes you respect Nature. Thanks for you comment. Carl

I really like that you have two people in the image.  It adds scale and vulnerability.  It becomes a story.

Thank you Huss for you observation and commentary. We all feel vulnerable in front of this spectacle. Regards. Carl

Beautiful photo...of an impressive site

Thank you very much Lelmer. Yes, this place is impressive . One of the places I return to. Makes one feel like a fragile-human. Regards. Carl

Fantastic shot Carl. The gritty processing adds the final touch

Thank you Hari. I looked at your «impressive» web site. Your b&W images also have a gritty look to them. (to borrow your words). Really makes them unique. For your information and reading pleasure: Deus ex machina ( a saying from the Greek theater, I think) is also used by a group that make motorcycles. They are in Bali and Java but originally from Australia. Regards. Carl.

Thank you Carl.

Indeed, the name of the site comes from Greek theatre.

Interesting it’s also used by the biker group, if I weren’t living in Germany I’d still be riding a nice vintage 2 Strike engine. I looked at their work and it’s really cool.

Hope you’re having a nice weekend.

Sunny greetings from Germany,
Hari

Hello Hari. Thank you for your answer. Their bikes ARE really cool. I have a Yamaha Scorpio 225 CC. This is one of the bikes they modify.. Am seriously thinking of having them make a cafe racer with my bike. Here in Java, still the rainy season. Greetings from Java. Carl.
