Dear all,

I am looking for a Handstrap to use with my recently bought Q2R. The Leica Store had none matching.
So far I saw a few solutions, and I’d like your advice

1) the COOPH Olive one piece leather Hand Strap

https://store.cooph.com/collections/photography-camera-straps/products/one-piece-leather-hand-strap

I a tempted as it looks very adapted to the way I plan to use it. Small, fitted.

Do you have any experience with the Hand Strap ?
Can anybody tell me how the color matches with the Q2R body ?

There does not seem to be a black one, unfortunately…

2) the Leica Paracord Hand strop, either Green or Black

Looks are great. How is it in use ?

I read in the forum the green did not perfectly match.. I’d like your opinion

3) the Rock’n Roll Napa black wrist strap

I love my Rock’n Roll camera Napa camera strap, but feel like as a wrist strap it may not be very convienient to use ? Any feedback

Thanks a lot for sharing your experience

The olive color of the COOPH Paracord straps does not match exactly, so you read correctly. The olive color is a bit too bright. However, the black version is a great match for the Q2R. This is the exact combination that Leica showed with the M10 Reporter in their advertisements. The black color is a dull black and reflects a bit of a green tint – think of it as a match to the Kevlar instead of the green paint.

I would call those wrist straps rather than hand straps, which I see as more like this.
Nit-picking aside, I have a COOPH wrist strap in cord which I don't like, along with all the other straps that tighten round your wrist under tension - it makes it difficult to get off in a hurry. You may be OK with that, but I'm just bringing the point to your attention!

:) thanks for the vocabulary course : I knew hand strap was somewhat not exactly the right word (« dragonne » in French)… now I know ;)

I will be thinking about the tension thing… Interesting thought

After reading the different posts, and thinking about it again, I finally after went another route and bought a light camera strap and not a wrist strap. Not a large one in order to store it easily in my camera bag (Fogg Satchmo), but a camera strap rather than a wrist strap eventually : allows me to have more freedom of movement and more use cases.
Once again, reading and gaining form other fellow forum members here is very useful (and a pleasure) !

I bought one from Luigi (I already have a wonderful case for my SL from him) in military green. It matches nicely with the camera (better in real life than on the pic).

Have you tried the Leica Finger Loop?

Hello Chris

Thanks.

I’d need to add the grip to use it. I don’t think it exist for the Reporter. But I’ll look at the solution next time I go to the Leica Store :)

I mostly don't care how a strap looks.  With that in mind I like the Peak Design Cuff with my original Q.   I have the original cuff.  It has changed and I have no experience with the current version.

Same here. With my Q2, my CL and my Fuji XT-3.

Sorry, I was wrong.
I thought that the tread is also on the Q housing, but I was wrong, it's only on the original Hand Leica Grip.
I find the square design of the Q uncomfortable to hold so I added the Hand grip what makes it for me much more comfortable and safer to hold.
The Finger Loop screws in the tread right at the original Leica Grip, but im not sure if the Reporter version can fit the Grip, but I guess yes.

However, I don't use any straps on my cameras, I hold the camera in my hand (also for long time) to have it ready or she is in a small Q size pouch.
The Grip and the Finger Loop give you a perfect grip that the camera never will fall down except with you as well.

I am very please with this solution as it fit perfectly my way of holding a camera, and it may do yours as well.

Chris
