The river of my boyhood - for the whole of my life I have known this stretch of water. I was born near it, my first visit to an inn was alongside it. Over time I have fished in it, swam in it, paddled in it. Like life it keeps flowing onward. I went back this morning and it stirred many memories.

It looks like a fine river to have a connection with. The term we use for this type of river where I live is, " home waters."

Further from the sea it is a very fine chalk stream and renowned for its trout fishing. As home waters it is fine.
