Yep there are few version of this lens v1, v2, single coated, multi coated i have the v2 multicoated and it works like a charm both with CL and M10 no perfectly sharp at the edges at f1.4 but really nice colors and resolving perfectly the 75% of the frame. Absolutely suggested

Thanks, When it is mounted on the CL, I will be using the Leica adapter. Do I need to add the 6 bit coding or is it sufficient to identify the lens through the menu system. Excuse the naive question. I have not researched that part of it yet. Andy advice for setting up a manual user profile would be appreciated.

Depends on your lens. My Nokton 35/1.4 SC v2 doesn't need any coding as i prefer correcting distortion in PP if needed but the code of the Summilux 35/1.4 asph does no harm. You can set it through the Lens Profiles menu (11663/11874/11883) or hand code the lens but it may work or not depending on templates and paints you choose.

Same experience for me, i prefer to do not apply any coding for a cleaner post production, but have friends using it coding as summilux and it’s fine

I have it multicoded and love the size and handling. Wide open the lens delivers vintage style, stopped down it turns into good standard 35. In fact in terms of its style you will have 2 lenses at least. I really love it.

Looks very good, about on par with the Voigtländer Nokton 40mm f/1.4 I had some years back. Good lenses... :)I was poking about looking for something else the other day and spied the TT Artisans 17mm f/1.4 in Leica L-mount on the B&H Photo website. Only $128 shipped ... I expect it's junk, but on the odd possibility that it could be decent I decided to give it a try at that price.

If it is junk, it'll go back. ;)

Usually when I see a review for the Cheap Chinese lenses, it contains the qualifier "for the price" Granted, I paid 3-4 times the price of a Chinese lens but I believe I got a much better lens. Matt Osborne combined his review of the 40 f1.4 and the 35 f1.4 into one review because the two lenses were so similar in performance.

I don't really bother with reviews anymore. I prefer to try lenses and see what they are to my eyes. Sometimes, I find nice surprises. :)

The Voigtländer lenses are definitely at a different quality level than things like the TT Artisan lenses. I have/have had quite a few excellent Voigtländer lenses, still do: The HyperWide 10mm, the Color-Skopar 28mm, the Color-Skopar 50mm are all in my so-called permanent kit, and I see no reason they won't be there for a long time to come.

Your 35/1.4 is a very high quality lens. Enjoy it, and observe what it does with your own eyes ... not in someone else's review opinion. :D

I just got a 35mm APO-Lanthar and have been impressed at how good the images are on the M10-R.  It might be a little big on my CL but I thought it might be a nice as a 52mm prime.  Going to give it a try as soon as my adapter gets here.

Wow @RickP, that does look good. Shame it's so big though - I find myself preferring really small set up nowadays. Although I've put it on my potential wishlist.

I didn't like it immediately upon opening the box, tested it, didn't like the look of it, and sent it back. So it goes.

I have had the lens for a week now. I am quite pleased with it. The only thing that I have noticed is having the focus peaking turned on really drains the battery much faster than normal. The following link will take you to my Flickr album where I have posted the shots. Voigtlander 35 f1.4 mc

Oh wow, thanks for these shots. Have you found it to be sharp wide open even on the edges like @M.piras said? I didn't know if EXIF was accurate - I know it doesn't necessarily all translate when using adapters.

I currently have the Voigtlander 35mm f/2.5 Color-Skopar P II as I really wanted a very minimal setup. But am pretty attracted by this one if it's got good sharpness - that f/1.4 would be so nice compared to my f/2.5.

I have found the edges of the portion in focus to be quite sharp. There is a distinct separation from the rest of the photo. The EXIF data is accurate. The only thing I miss is the aperture setting. I will probably start writing down the setting when using the lens.

on the whole, it is a wonderful lens.
