beewee Posted January 25 Share #3 Posted January 25 I just updated the 24/3.5 to v1.2 and see that linear focusing is available now on the SL2-S. However, it’s odd that the 90/120/150/180/210 degree options are greyed out and 240+ degree options are enabled. Is that the same on the 45/2.8? There's a pdf sheet from Sigma that lists for every compatible lens which rotation is supported. But I don't find it any more.

beewee Posted January 28 Share #7 Posted January 28 Advertisement (gone after registration) That a strange choice to require 240 deg minimum rotation for a wide angle lens like the 24/3.5. I wonder if the encoders that read the focus ring rotation is very coarse and not high enough resolution to make fine adjustments with small amounts of rotation. Ihmemies2 Posted January 31 Share #8 Posted January 31 Finally. I had to buy the usb dock to adjust the focus ring sensitivity, because in-camera settings didn't work at all. Sadly 85/1.4 DG DN does not support this. It was one of the lenses without mention of the feature in v1.1 firmware changelog. My 24/2 and 35/1.4 DG DN support it. But 270 degrees is really way too long. It should be 90-180deg minium. Japanese got it right in the 80's why it is hard in 2020's?
jaapv Posted January 31 Share #9 Posted January 31 The USB dock will not work under Monterey.
beewee Posted May 6 Share #10 Posted May 6 Sigma just added the same FW update with linear focus option for the 14-24/2.8 DG DN on April 7, 2022. Tifoso_VR46
beewee Posted May 7 Share #11 Posted May 7 I’ve updated my 14-24/2.8 DG DN firmware to the latest v1.4 version and it looks like linear focusing supports 90/120/150/180/210 degree rotation which is much better than the 24/3.5 in this regard.
