Of course no complaints about the quality etc. Design wise, the front pockets always seem to me to be designed to allow things to fall out. This is a common theme of Billingham pockets rather than specific to the Hadley One. I never had one time that anything fell out of the front pocket, neither hadley pro nor small nor digital.

Jeff I've never had anything fall out of mine but I must admit that I have retrieved my spare battery from the front pocket without opening the pocket or even unfastening the strap. Taking a more optimistic view, I thought it a useful feature.
jpto Posted February 24, 2023 Share #325 Posted February 24, 2023 late to the party but I've used a Billingham Hadley Small for my M system since 2010, it's my favourite camera bag. I also picked up a Bellroy camera sling, less padding but it hugs the body well and carries about the same as the Hadley Small

Taking a more optimistic view, I thought it a useful feature. I’ve had things come out of those pockets in car boots, aircraft luggage lockers etc - usually when the bag is flat rather than vertical. Some of their bags used to have zip closures on the front pockets which I prefer. In general I prefer their tuckable zip closure for the main compartment too. There are some very skilled pick pockets in the world and I don’t like the idea they could reach in to the main compartment whilst I’m standing in a crowded Tube or bus etc. I once had a Nikon D3s stolen from a closed Domke on which my feet were resting as I slept on an Indian train though, so they’ll get anywhere if they’ve enough skill. Einst_Stein Posted February 24, 2023 Share #328 Posted February 24, 2023 Men's Travel Leather Handbags - Cambridge Satchel Co. Mine takes M240 (a little larger than M11) and 3 lenses (25mm, 50mm, 90mm) plus extra battery and charger. The weight is just right for my shoulder/neck. This is a full grain leather, excellent protection. Comfortable to hang around as a shoulder bag.
charlesphoto99 Posted February 24, 2023 Share #329 Posted February 24, 2023 I've got a few bags to choose from, including Peak slings of small to big and Billingham Hadley small and regular, but keep coming back to the ThinkTank slings as the most comfortable to wear, both the Turnstile 10 for M use or the Photocross for airplane or when bigger gear and misc is needed to carry... https://www.thinktankphoto.com/collections/sling-bags/products/turnstyle-10-v2 https://www.thinktankphoto.com/collections/sling-bags/products/photocross-

I do see your point and understand how it could be a problem, maybe Billingham should consider adding a strip of velcro to seal the pocket better. I might just add that to mine. They were being really innovative and bringing out a lot of new stuff but they seem to have reduced the range and new release frequency a fair amount. Just look around, widen the choice. You might find something more suitable for you. My camera backpack is a hiking backpack. It is light and fit well, good balance between shoulder and waist, much more comfortable. Easy to arrange stuffs including non-photography, easy to carry and access. And it is much cheaper. When I transport my Billinghams in a car, the front pocket closures are secure, and the outer flap straps are drawn tight around the studs. There is no way anything could fall out of my bag under those circumstances, regardless of how the bag is sitting. The last thing I want on my bags are zippers , which is one reason I like the Billingham designs. But I also typically carry my gear without any bag, using a bag primarily for transport or in very bad weather conditions. I would never work out of an unsecured bag in a crowded/risky urban environment. These differing personal preferences and use cases are certain to keep bag threads proliferating here. TheEyesHaveIt Posted February 26, 2023 Share #335 Posted February 26, 2023 Any recommendations for a small crossbody bag that lies flat for packing to fit an M11 with a lens attached? While a large bag or backpack is nice for transporting a lot of gear, when I’m at the destination I often want to take my camera in a minimal fashion (to say dinner) and don’t want a big bag with me. Sorry, I misunderstood that part. It lies flat on the body, but not for packing.

In this case just carry the camera alone. If you look for camera bags, they are usually not packable because of the padding. There are plenty of packable slings, they just don't provide any protection.
