Chose the silver for the appearance mainly and finish. I don't like the abrasive finish on the black M11. Although for stealth I agree black is the way to go. Anyway super happy with my silver M11, the retro vintage look is so beautiful. Now have to find a bag to put the M11 otherwise my neck will suffer from a whole day of shooting with this beast.

Been testing the Rangefinder experience and so far really enjoying the whole process! I've been able to nail focus very fast. I'm having difficulty shooting in portrait mode because I keep touching the small rangefinder patch on my right hand! OH well, practice and practice some more.

Presumably you’d carry a bag over shoulder or cross-body. No reason you can’t carry the camera that way rather than around neck, and save the weight and mass of a bag.

But there are about 3k bag threads here to give you more suggestions and ideas.

To shoot in portrait, I focus in landscape, and then frame in portrait. I haven't really gotten the hang of rangefinder focusing in portrait.

Alternatively, I use my Visoflex EVF, which hasn't left the top of my M11 since I got it. Great to have both options.

I was very pleased to benefit from the lighter body of the Black version. It nearly feels as small as the MP, although still a bit taller. I notice that the weight isn't quite as well balanced with an 50 Summicron APO when compared to being attached on an MP.

I find the black M11 paint easier to grip too. The material being Aluminium or Brass is of no consequence to me, expecially for digital cameras.
