Fuorcla Surlej with Bernina group

This picture was taken with the Leica M11 and the Zeiss 35mm f1.4 Distagon in late autumn at the little lake below Fuorcla Surlej. This was the best position to get most of the reflections of the mountains into the picture. From left to right we can see Piz Tschierva with Piz Morteratsch behind, Piz Bernina, Piz Scerscen and Piz Roseg. I masked the sky to be able to keep the deep blue while the mountain landscape was edited separately in order to appear with warmer tonal values.

Very nice. Personally, I think I would have pulled the shadows up.

Well, that is not only depending on taste but even more on the monitor you use viewing it. I'm working with the Apple Pro Display XDR which is very bright. Here I see a lot of dark midtones and good drawing in the dark regions but no deep black at all. For printing, it would have to be much brighter.
I would like to have the lowest part before the lake brighter too, but there was only a glimpse of sunlight and if I brighten it up for the whole landscape, the regions in the shadow would lose weight. That could be fixed with another mask, of course.

Shiny fresh Notre Dame cathedral

Best seen in the early morning:

but a bit crowded by midday (after 9 am, in fact)

And in the evening, the Eiffel tower is also incredibly crowded, but looking up, it just glows:

It is also a familiar site from nearly anywhere in Paris.

We got some snow yesterday, the dog loves it. I have sold my Nikon Z8 so now it is difficult to get a sharp image of the dog when he is moving. I had preset the lens and used rapid series shot, but I needed 15 shots to get this one. M11P + Nokton 75/1.5 wide open.

I once had a pair of pants, made my North Face if memory serves me correctly, that had that epigram sown into the fly.
