Actually on close inspection it was the body, the 2mm allen came out and all is well. Slightly worryingly it's a new camera and had been re-adjusted once professionally already. Not sure whether there's an issue here or if a careful amateur with great desire for perfection beats a professional with less time and interest! I suspect the former!

Are you saying that you were focused on infinity and it's actually focusing closer? Hard to see that in this post. And is that something that you can actually adjust on the M11? Further - if it is a body issue - wouldn't all of your lenses be affected? I have noticed that using the depth scale on my 28mm Elmarit doesn't get infinity in focus.

Yes, previously I had a 28mm and 35mm obviously there's quite a lot of focal latitude there. With the new 50mm it was more obvious (at full resolution) that infinity was actually not quite infinity. When I looked at the other lenses it was there too. I'd previously checked indoors with a ruler and the lenses were all focusing a little forward. As I focussed further away the forward focus became proportionally more forward. I have a predilection for shooting landscape wide open; it's an odd look and everyone says you shouldn't, so I do, hence it being apparent in my landscapes.

To test and adjust I stood in my front garden and tested the 50mm and 35mm lenses against a road sign on a wall, oblique to my house about 100 ft away, it was quite obvious the sign was just at the very edge/outside of the far point of acceptable focus. 4 lots of minute tweaks later all was well. So far...
