pascal_meheut Posted December 9, 2021 Share #1 Â Posted December 9, 2021 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hi, I'm in the process of coding my Voigt 50/1.2. I could of course choose the 50/1.4 or 1.0 code but using another 50/1.2 code would give me the EXIF I would like. I've not been able to find it in the usual databases/web pages nor any picture of the mount of this lens. Anybody knows it or has access to the lens? Regards. Is the mount flange pre-milled for 6 bit coding ? Are any 3rd party lenses ? thanks Edited December 10, 2021 by rsolomon

To the best of my knowledge, Leica have a patent on the 6bit lens coding in at least some countries.

The current ones have a recessed area for hand coding though.
pascal_meheut Posted December 11, 2021 Author Share #8 Â Posted December 11, 2021 No, the mount flange is not pre-milled. But as lct said, the recessed area helped. However, I found replacement flanges for Zeiss ZM lenses and it seems the screw hole positions are compatible with Voigtlander. I'll try that as soon as they arrive from China. Hi Pascal, Good to see you posting here again. I met you with Robert Parker in the Frog & Rosbif some years ago. Be careful with the flange mounts with drilled pits. Most that I used were okay but when I swapped my 50/1.0 Noctilux's flange over there were shims underneath and aligning them was very difficult. Pete.

It was a nice meal. If you are in Paris and want to share a drink, let me know. Unfortuntaly, Covid makes going to London quite complicated. Too bad because this is one of my favorites cities.  2 hours ago, farnz said: Be careful with the flange mounts with drilled pits. Most that I used were okay but when I swapped my 50/1.0 Noctilux's flange over there were shims underneath and aligning them was very difficult. Thanks for the advice. I'll take it into account.
