It only has TTL and Manual modes, no Auto mode, so no it will not work with an MP in auto.
Advertisement Posted December 4, 2021 Posted December 4, 2021 Hi plaidshirts, Take a look here What is the most versatile flash to use on a leica MP (film)?. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
George Stoichev Posted December 4, 2021 Share #42  Posted December 4, 2021 I use with my Leica m6 Contax TLS140 flash. It is small and powerful. It has TTL and manual mode. With my Leica m6 classic I use it on manual mode.I set the shutter speed at 1/50 and put aperutre at f/8 if the obect is between 1.5-3.5m or at f/11 if the object is 0.7-1,5m

It’s the Olympus/Panasonic/leica digital version. Will this work on a m film camera? MP ? Yes in M mode which I find works well enough Edited December 22, 2021 by south64

Get yourself a Metz 32CT-3, this will work just fine in A Mode. Enough power, not too bulky. You can twist and turn the flash for indirect lighting. I often use this old flash also with digital cameras. Set the aperture and the ISO on the flash as on the camera/ film used, set the speed dial on the flash symbol and there you go. On most subjects the lighting is just spot on. The flash will reduce or raise the flash intensity depending on the distance to the subject. If I use the ceiling as a reflector I open up the aperture 1 stop. Without this A (automatic) mode you have to fool around with distances and so on. lookbook Posted December 25, 2021 Share #45 Â Posted December 25, 2021 ... taking pictures with a leica m is also an aesthetic experience. every flash that is used destroys it. only the konica hx 14 seems acceptable from this point of view. uwe
