fotografr Posted November 12, 2021 Share #1 Posted November 12, 2021 Advertisement (gone after registration) I'm having breakfast. My wife calls me to the kitchen window and points out a Coopers Hawk standing patiently next to a cluster of Hosta. Hidden under the leaves are several sparrows. Suddenly the hawk disappears into the Hosta, emerging a moment later with a meal in its talons. Unfortunately, just a few minutes before this happened I had removed a 75mm lens from the M10M and put on a 35mm, so this isn't as tight as I'd like--even though it's cropped up a fair amount. It's also shot through a screened window. I was happy to end up with anything at all. M10M, VC 35mm/1.2, vIII Welcome, dear visitor! I guess the way to look at it is death for one equals life for another in cases like this.
stuny Posted November 13, 2021 Share #4 Posted November 13, 2021 Then there's Disney. Did you know that the myth of lemmings in mass suicide jumps came from a Disney nature movie in which the crew drove the lemmings towards and over the cliff? 1

That's a reality that goes missing on many people. I checked out a wood fence post a few days ago. Feathers on the ground at the base of the post and blood at the top and down one side. Hawks are feasting on our dove population. Such is life!
