M10 live view, can you change focus area after punching in with the directional pad?

Hi, 

I'm on the fence between a Leica m10 or m10p, one of the questions I find rather hard to get a definitive  answer on is this:
When using live view on a regular m10 AND your zoomed in, can you then move around using the directional pad? 

On my Leica Q I found this to be a huge drawback when using manual focus, as it only zooms in to the center, then you need to use focus recompose 
(which can throw the focus slightly off) , If I could compose first, then zoom in where I wanted, that would be gold!

I think it does change the point, the reason why i swapped with m10-p at that time becoz of the touch screen where i can move the focus by touching

 

though i seldom focusing using other than the OVF

When using OVF,  do you then go back to moving the directional pad to move around in the frame to check sharpness?

honestly speaking i seldom preview my photos, that including the sharpness

i use OVF because i think it’s faster and dont want to halt my flow

The M10/P has touch screen functionality for zooming into  a focus location.  In addition, you can move around the screen by using the touch screen.  It is the same basic interface as a smartphone.

Other techniques to use, especially when time is of the essence, is to stop down your lens, stand farther away and/or or use a wider lens. And we can also compensate by leaning in or back, based on experience. We don’t have screens with film M’s (or now M-D’s) and a lot of nice pics are still made.
