but with 3x the RAM.

I have just started to notice things starting to slow down with Lightroom (M240 files, so smaller than yours).

I think that it might be time to save up and buy a new one next year.

I am not familiar with Stormfront.

If you can, upgrade your internal memory, but also the HD to a Solid State Drive. That will make a huge impact and extends the lifespan of your machine :)

Ooh, great, thanks..It's all double dutch to me..I'll quote you )

Upgrading the RAM on a 2015 iMac is very easy - not so the HD

For the RAM all you need is a Phillips screwdriver and 5min time, for an exchange of the HD calculate 1 hour plus,  detailed description you certainly find at ifixit.com, but before that please transfer all data including start up volumes to the new SSD with a cloning software. I did this a few ago with an even older iMac.

I've just been talking with an Apple person for an age, resetting the computer, he felt it should be competent for the task of editing the Q2 files but I've just been into LR and it's as glacial, as before even with this M10 file.

To the list of parts and tools required add a bottle of good red wine to keep your hands calm...

If you think that I am opening up my iMac after a bottle of wine, then we are definitely not on the same page here!

Are you sure you were talking to a genuine Apple person😉? ("Should've gone to Specsavers").
