jplomley Posted September 24, 2021 Share #3 Posted September 24, 2021 Last lens I want to create my ideal 24-35-75 APO travel kit. But I'm not holding my breath. What are they, like 2 years past due date now? I've lost track....
beewee Posted September 25, 2021 Share #4 Posted September 25, 2021 No rumblings but looking back at when different APO SL primes were release, it was either in February or August and we’ve just past the August window.

Daniel C.1975 Posted September 25, 2021 Share #6 Posted September 25, 2021 Maybe they first roll out a new smallish f2.8 50mm lens, because there are just too few 50mm lenses For me also a 24mm lens was in the waiting to have the 24-35-75 set up. However, I've meanwhile bought the Sigma 3.5 24mm, and it is in fact so nice, small and good enough, that I might skip the Leica and spend the money for something else (especially as I also have the huge but really good 24-90 and just bought in a mood the Panasonic 1.8 50, which is also nice as cheapish and light 50, but has some harsh rendering for distant objects- for people however it is quite nice - again however, here the Summicron-SLs really show in comparison how great they are). To the question: I've asked some people I know, and got no answer - not even a hint. So I would not hold my breath. Once it is out, it will for sure be a great lens, as the other Summicron SLs are. Cheers
jplomley Posted September 25, 2021 Share #7 Posted September 25, 2021 Advertisement (gone after registration) Makes one wonder just how dedicated Leica are to the L product line given the exhaustively slooooow roll out of lenses.
jrp Posted September 25, 2021 Share #8 Posted September 25, 2021 Yes, now that we have a 24mm f2 from Sigma, those that really want a 24mm f2 will get that and be done. Anyway, if the 24 and 21 are as good as the 28 and 35 (and the rest) it’ll be worth the wait.
MrFriendly Posted September 27, 2021 Share #9 Posted September 27, 2021 I've been waiting for the release of the 24mm Summicron-SL too, and I hope there is also a 24mm Summilux-SL in the works 😁.

Damn a 24mm summilux sounds amazing lol. I used to have a Fuji xf 16mm 1.4 (crop sensor), was also one of my favorite focal lengths especially for food shots 🙂

jrp Posted September 28, 2021 Share #12 Posted September 28, 2021 I thought that the Summicron line had effective depth of field similar to the Summilux line of yore.

Manicouagan1 Posted October 1, 2021 Share #15 Posted October 1, 2021 I got the 24mm f2.8 years ago to go with my M8 with its smaller sensor. Even with full frame M cameras it is one of my most used M lenses.
