I also tried to use the brass cassettes in vintage bulk-loaders.
Two bulk-loaders in my collection have a feature that suits the brass cassettes.

But in order to be useable, the core of the spool must accept the film leader securely.
This does work:

Whenever I want to fix the film leader in the spool (spools differ in this respect) the leader falls out of the spool as soon as I make the first turn.
So this is a second reason for using plastic spools in combination with black adhesive tape.

This is a pity, of course, as it is a challenge to use this vintage equipent in the original way.

It looks like your cassettes are indeed IXMOO - the shiny “mushroom” is the indicator.

They are made for use in M cameras, but are backward compatible with Barnack’s, but with the issue you experience.

FILCA can only be used in Barnack cameras.

I don’t think any of my FILCAs or IXMOOs have plastic spools. I suspect those you have are aftermarket.

The telescoping spools looks more like a camera take-up spool than a film cassette spool.

@Roland Zwiers Here's a photo illustrating the size difference:

FILCA, IXMOO and commercial Agfa cassette (it may be difficult to see, but the Agfa cassette is a mm or two shorter than the IXMOO)
