EricSS Posted June 14, 2021 Share #1 Posted June 14, 2021 Advertisement (gone after registration) I am looking for a lightweight compact TTL flash for use with my Q2, but am trying to understand which are compatible. I understand that the SF24D may be one option, but will the SF20 also work? Does anyone have any experience of either in use? The flash needs to be very compact and will only be for occasional use, primarily for fill-in basis so it needs to be TTL.
Advertisement Posted June 14, 2021 Posted June 14, 2021 Hi EricSS, Take a look here Compact flash compatibility with Q2. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
ianforber Posted June 15, 2021 Share #2 Posted June 15, 2021 I don’t use flash myself but in a separate thread @LeicaGuy mentioned that the SF 26 works with the Q2. As you will see from the manual, it says that the Q2 is compatible with “Leica system flash units”. Worth asking a Leica store?
ESS Posted June 16, 2021 Share #3 Posted June 16, 2021 Ian thank you. Asking a Leica store sounds like a very good idea.
EricSS Posted June 25, 2021 Author Share #4 Posted June 25, 2021 It seems that the SF26 is the only small flash that will work properly on a TTL basis with the Q2. So I have just bought one,. And so so far impressed by both its compactness and seeming functionality - although still early days.
Herr Barnack Posted June 25, 2021 Share #5 Posted June 25, 2021 I don't use flash much, but it would be nice to have a flash for my Q2 and M10M for specific instances - 1-2 second shutter speeds with rear curtain synced flash. I keep looking at the Leica SF40, but paying $560 USD for something that was made in China for 1/10th that price just rubs me the wrong way. 🙄
jaapv Posted June 26, 2021 Share #6 Posted June 26, 2021 You'll have a hard time finding any flash of any brand or any price that was NOT made in China... As it is it is a well-made and solid product.

The issue is not quality; the issue is the retail price. Edited June 26, 2021 by Herr Barnack
