I have the opportunity to purchase a 50mm summicron, based on SN it is made in Canada in 1980. I noticed it has a serrated focusing tab, not with the U shaped tab for your finger tip to sit in. Did Leica make lens with the serrated tab or could I be looking at one where the tab was replaced? Of all the lens I've seen, I've never seen one with a serrated focusing tab.

Hello Everybody,

"Tiger's Paw" because some people at the time thought that it looks like a tiger's paw.

Best Regards,

Michael

Michael, thank you. I just had never seen the "tiger claw" tab before. Thanks for the welcome and the quick response.

A couple M lenses had that "tiger claw" in the eighties: 50/2 v4, 35/2 v4, 28/2.8 v3 at least. All made in Canada i believe. My own 50/2 and 35/2 were like that then but i have no experience with the 28/2.8 v3 below.
