jmr Posted August 13, 2006 Share #2 Posted August 13, 2006 Andy, I bet that was a tricky exposure to nail - very nice.
elansprint72 Posted August 13, 2006 Share #3 Posted August 13, 2006 Good one! Close to you or further North? Cheers, Pete.
andybarton Posted August 13, 2006 Author Share #4 Posted August 13, 2006 Due West Well, a bit North West. It's directly opposite Hilbre Island - you might just be able to see the English coast from this shot. Turn through 180 degrees and you have the Virginia Woolf lighthouse. cboudier Posted August 13, 2006 Share #5 Posted August 13, 2006 Very nice, vey "Leica" I think !
andybarton Posted August 13, 2006 Author Share #6 Posted August 13, 2006 Thanks Christophe. Can't be a "Leica" shot - it was taken with an "R"... I also think it's been posted in the wrong section
dan_drabek Posted August 14, 2006 Share #7 Posted August 14, 2006 Advertisement (gone after registration) This is a happy shot Andy. Put's a smile on my face. I like the big expanse of open area around the people. Gives them room to move, and provides a good sense of space. I could see this blown up to a wall-sized print. robert_parker Posted August 14, 2006 Share #8 Posted August 14, 2006 Andy I'm certain it's in the right section - you don't have to zoom in to do a good peice of 'people' reportage like this. I feel the temptation to take my R camera down to the beach but I fear the sand !!
harmsr Posted August 14, 2006 Share #9 Posted August 14, 2006 Andy, Nice composition. I love the people and the water in the foreground going diagonally right, with the awesome cloud cover going in the opposite diagonal. Spot-on with the exposure. Thanks for sharing. fotografr Posted August 14, 2006 Share #11 Posted August 14, 2006 Lots of interest in this photograph, Andy. The clouds, the ripples in the sand, reflections on the water and the group of people having fun in the tide pools. Nice job with the sepia toning, too. mgcd Posted August 16, 2006 Share #17 Posted August 16, 2006 Calicoe skies - great expanse nicely rendered. This is the kind of image one can look at for a very long time and still find pleasure in discovery. Cheers,
abrewer Posted August 16, 2006 Share #18 Posted August 16, 2006 Wonderful shot, Andy. I really think you have nailed the tonal variation well here, and it does look tricky to me...very fine craftsmanship. Granddad should be proud of grandson! or son! As the case may be.... Thanks. wilfredo Posted August 16, 2006 Share #19 Posted August 16, 2006 Andy, What's not to like about the use of XP2 in this shot? This is a wonderful composition at many levels, composition, mood, atmosphere, tones, and to boot I find it very touching. It tells something of the brighter side of human journey. I really enjoyed this one. Wilfredo+ Benitez-Rivera Photography
