Comparison Leica Apo-Summicron-M 2/50 with Voigtlander Apo-Lanthar 2/50 FE

Because Voigtlander has released the VM Apo Lanthar 50 mm I thought you might be interested to see a comparison of the Apo Summicron and the Apo Lanthar. 

I have tested with the Sony A7R4.  If you see the pictures you can hardly tell them apart. The Apo Lantar is a gem for its money. Contrast and sharpness of both lenses are full open already impressive. The Leica has the advantage that it has the same quality and is even smaller then the Lanthar

No independent reviewers can afford the leica 35/50 apo to compare them with their voigtlander equivalent at the moment sadly but we can rest assured that all 4 lenses are jolly good.

I haven’t seen too many reviews either. But (subscription-only) ReidReviews did a very in-depth 16 page effort on the Voigtlander 35 APO vs its Leica 35mm equivalent. I’ve personally found his insights very useful in discussing the technical aspects of gear.

FWIW I used to own the M 50 APO, but sold it and now own the Voigtlander 50 APO ….both are jolly good IMHO!

Good choice, I've just bought my 2nd Leica APO 50. It is so damned good.
