aksclix Posted March 12, 2021 Share #1 Posted March 12, 2021 Advertisement (gone after registration) The used Leica S 006 I purchased from Camera west is now dead! It does not power on.. not with the battery, not with the AC adapter... I will have to visit the store tomorrow and hope for a refund .. I don't know how I can even begin to trust the S system with so many complaints plagued around it.. disappointed big time!!!

Jeff S Posted March 12, 2021 Share #2 Posted March 12, 2021 Disappointing. But a good reason to stick with trustworthy dealers. Hope this is a simple fix, or a seamless return/exchange. Jeff

Jeff Camerawest and Leica store SF are owned by the same person I believe.. both their listings are identical! so they should be as reliable as the other Leica dealers I think.. anyway, these come with a 90 day warranty so I don’t foresee any issues with returns.. if they’d like to offer a used 007 for 4K may be I’ll consider but again I am scared to touch an S body now without worrying about it turning into a brick

I trust some more than others. Camera West has a good reputation. Leica Miami is another that has a lot of experience with the S system, and does an even better job screening and prepping used gear for sale. Good folk up there in WalCreek...they may in fact have a replacement 006 for you either in-store or in the SF location or Rancho Mirage (same owner). Stuff happens. My 006 took a trip to the mothership a couple years back and hasn't missed a beat since. Best files I've probably ever worked with.
ZHNL Posted March 12, 2021 Share #6 Posted March 12, 2021 This sounds like battery issue. Do you have multiple battery?

Do you have multiple battery? don't think it is a battery issue.. I have an AC adapter which didn't work either.. The battery was fully charged. I was using it when it stopped working. ocean2059 Posted March 12, 2021 Share #10 Posted March 12, 2021 Glad to see that Sean is on this Forum. I have been thinking about getting another S body from Leica SFO stores, as well. I hope your problem will be resolved one way or other. I have enjoyed using S system for over eight years, still with my lowly S2 and full set of S lenses. Overall, I am pretty happy with the S system.
